New play equipment arriving

The ‘mouse house’ is up and spinning in the Kids Own Playground in Masterton.

The mouse house is a tunnel-like piece of playground equipment that spins as people run inside – just like an oversized exercise wheel for mice.

It is the first piece of new equipment to arrive in the playground as the Masterton District Council and the Friends of the Park refurbish the ‘smallie’s’ section.

The mouse house has been attracting passer-by’s who can’t resist giving the wheel a spin.

Lani and Jonah Maxwell were just some of the youngsters to try it out.

Two other new pieces of equipment are set to join the mouse house.

A big swing is currently under construction while a third disc-like apparatus, which is wheelchair accessible, will be added in January.

These three new additions have joined the two tractors that were already in the playground.
