Police have named the South Wairarapa motorcyclist who died on Wednesday morning in Featherston.
He was Martinborough man Marco Overdijk, who was also known as Marco Overdale.
The 69-year-old collided with a fully laden logging truck on State Highway 53, at the intersection of Murphy’s Line and Boundary Rd, around 9am.
Police said both vehicles had been travelling South, and it appeared Mr Overdijk had been attempting to overtake the truck.
The investigation is ongoing.
Police’s thoughts are with the family and friends of Mr Overdijk.
