Scattered showers failed to dampen the spirits of people who flocked to the A&P Show this weekend.
And it certainly did nothing to deter families from Wellington who made the most of the free Sunday train yesterday.
The free train to Wairarapa, which was full leaving Wellington station at 9.55am, offloaded hundreds of visitors to the region, many of which headed to the show.
A full programme of festivities featured each day, with firm favourites such as show jumping, animal shows, shearing, and agricultural displays.
There were also many fairground attractions for the young and not so young.
Senior Sergeant Gordon Crawley, who had been at the show each of the three days said, apart from a minor post-show “scuffle” on the Friday night, everything had run smoothly.
“During the hours of the show everyone has been behaving themselves.
“The only shame is that the weather hasn’t been playing the game,” he said.
They still have the same crappy prizes form 25 years ago.
Quintin is looking fine 😛
