Masterton’s Kids Own Playground is starting to look spiffy thanks to the paintbrushes of the Rotary Club of Masterton South and the water blasters of the Department of Corrections.

Eight members of the Rotary Club of Masterton South were re-staining the wood of the playground on Thursday.

The club had been re-staining the playground in a number of working bees since October and were looking for people to help out in a “final push” working bee to be held on Sunday, December 15, from 9am-2pm, project co-ordinator John Murray said.

“If they can bring a paint pot and a three to four-inch brush that’ll be all they need, we’ll provide the stain and point them in the right direction.”

Murray also acknowledged the help of Corrections who had provided workers to wash the playground and water blast, which had made a big difference and reduced the cost.

People looking to get involved can contact John on 0274 933 759.
