Early finish

Masterton District Council [MDC] will be closing early at 2.30pm tomorrow. That means all MDC services and service buildings will be closing early, including the Masterton District Library, Wairarapa Archive, Queen Street Customer Services Centre, and Waiata House at 27 Lincoln Rd. The council will still be contactable via its after-hours call centre on 06 378 7752, by email via [email protected], or on the Antenno app, an MDC spokesperson said.

Submissions closing soon

Submissions are closing this Friday for Greater Wellington Regional Council’s proposed changes to its Natural Resources Plan. This plan has policies and rules surrounding the region’s coast, air, water, and land. Any person or organisation that may be affected can make a submission on any of the proposed changes to the Natural Resources Plan, either online or in written form. Information on the different ways to make a submission is available through the council’s website: www.gw.govt.nz. Submissions close at 5pm.

Tararua
roadworks

It is roadworks season in Tararua District, and Tararua Alliance – a collaborative working agreement between Tararua District Council [TDC] and Downer NZ Ltd – will be doing work on the following roads today: Mangaone Valley Rd, Eketāhuna – bridge inspection with stop and go traffic management; Pa Valley Rd, Eketāhuna – bridge inspection with stop and go traffic management; Route 52 – bridge inspection with stop and go traffic management. Ruckus in

Masterton

Police received reports of two people making verbal threats to two other people on Colombo Rd at 9.05pm on Monday. When responding to the call, it appeared that the two parties were known to each other. A police spokesperson confirmed there were no injuries or arrests made following the altercation.

Chapel St crash

Police received reports of a two-vehicle crash on Masterton’s Chapel St yesterday at 11.21am. There were no injuries reported and the road was not blocked.
