Nominations are now open for the 2019 Wairarapa Times-Age Sports Awards.

Organised by the Wairarapa Times-Age the awards celebrate the achievements and dedication of Wairarapa’s sporting community and have been held by the Times-Age for close to 40 years with the support of businesses.

It also recognises the huge contributions made by sports administrators, clubs, and the hundreds of volunteers who give their time for free to make all this possible.

Last year’s awards had members of the public send in hundreds of nominations for the award categories.

Times-Age editor Grant Harding said, “For many of us, sport is an important part of our lives. Lifetime friendships are forged on training and playing fields.

“These awards not only honour those who excel in their chosen sport, but those who selflessly give of their time to ensure that the competitors experience is optimised.

“Wairarapa is blessed with many talented sportspeople, particularly among the younger age groups. The Times-Age looks forward to bringing all the best together for another great night.”

The awards cover sporting achievements in 18 categories for the year from April 1, 2018 to March 31, 2019.
