The Giants women’s teams will look to consolidate their positions in the Hutt Valley Major B competition in today’s second round of matches in the championship sections.

Giants Blue are full of confidence ahead of their top-four match with Wainui at Fraser Park, Lower Hutt.

The Blues started with a comprehensive 21-6 win over arch-rivals Stokes Valley last weekend, whereas today’s opponents fell to a 17-10 defeat to Totara Park Gold.

The Blues won their previous clash with Wainui 16-13 in early December.

Giants Red kicked off their bottom-four championship with an 11-5 triumph over Saints but face a much sterner challenge against Dodgers Divas at Naenae Park.

Divas had an easy 18-2 win over Demons last weekend and prevailed 14-3 in their earlier encounter with the Reds.

The Giants age groups are also well-placed in their championships.

The Under-15s are third and should strengthen their semifinal claims against the struggling Dodgers Mini Raptors at South Park. Giants came out on top 16-3 in their previous clash.

The Under-13s meet joint leaders Demons in a vital game at Whakatiki St, Upper Hutt, with the winner virtually be guaranteed a spot in the semifinals. Giants easily won their earlier
meeting 17-5.
