A lot of hard work has paid off for Wairarapa College student Ollie Bunny.
He has been selected in the 35-strong national Under-18 men’s squad.
The squad will assemble for a series of training sessions in the build-up to next year’s Under-21 World Cup.
Bunny, captain of the Waicol First XI, plays for the Dalefield team competing in the Wellington Premier League. Waicol play in the Wellington secondary schools Premier One championship.
He has also represented the Capital region in the past two national Under-18 championships, winning the competition in 2018 and finishing seventh this year.
Bunny said he had been targeting the national Under-18 squad for some time.
“It’s been a goal of mine for a while.
“I’ll give it my best shot. I was pretty stoked when I saw my name on the list.
“It’s been a lot of hard work from myself.
“My parents, my coaches, and my friends have all helped out – they’ve been great,” he said.
