(Jim when he wasn’t in trouble). Aged 82 years, on 26 January 2021, Carterton, New Zealand. Formerly of Alloa, Scotland. Much loved husband of the late Ann Beattie (nee Graham), dad and father-in-law of Annette and Phil, Donald and Wendy. Loved grandpa and poppa of Joshua, Hugo and Liam. Larger than life polymath and contrarian. Friend to all dogs. Well travelled, lover of food, whisky, classical music, the great outdoors, history, reading, sailing and especially ice cream. A person that could connect with everyone, you leave a chasm in our lives. Rest in peace, you’ve more than earned it. In lieu of flowers, donations to Carter Court Rest Home, Carterton or the Wairarapa Hospice, Masterton are appreciated.
