Painting up a storm

PHOTO/EMMA BROWN

A handful of Makoura College staff and pupils used part of the first week of school holidays for a charity painting project, creating the mural for the new location for Masterton Foodbank.

Teacher Vicky Pilling and her group of four pupil volunteers Kyra Vangeffen, Maya Oliver, Milly Maugatai and Langdale Graham finished the large mural late last week.

Masterton Foodbank co-ordinator Lyn Tankersley said there was still work to be done to have their new site on Cricket St ready for winter, but the mural was a much-appreciated, colourful idea which lifted the site.
