A man was taken to Wairarapa Hospital on Thursday with moderate injuries after a hit and run involving a car.
Wairarapa Police response manager Senior Sergeant Jennifer Hansen said the incident was initially a civil matter over the purchase of a car which then escalated into disorder when the cars went out on to Oxford St.
Hansen said items were thrown at cars.
One of the cars then clipped a person who went up the bonnet before hitting the road.
Wellington Free Ambulance paramedics and police staff were called to the scene on Oxford St at 11.30am, and the person was taken to Wairarapa Hospital’s Emergency Department.
A police media spokesperson said when police attended the car had left the scene and police were continuing to make inquiries.
By 3pm on Thursday the man had been discharged from Wairarapa Hospital.
