The right level of trust

It’s status quo for the Masterton Community Trust, with the exception of Leanne Southey, who joins the trust, replacing previous member Brent Goodwin, who did not stand for re-election.

Racking up the most votes, based on the preliminary count is Bex Johnson [6522].

The trust is the major shareholder of Trust House Limited and governs the wider Trust House group.

Johnson also came out on top in the Masterton Trust Lands Trust election, with 4662 votes, meaning she is re-elected.

She joins new trustees Monique Kloeg, and Isabella McClymont, and re-elected trustee Christine Brewster.

There are eight elected members on the trust, and every three years, four retire by rotation but remain eligible for re-election.

Remaining on the trust from last triennium are Tom Hullena, Gary Caffell, Sandy Ryan, and John Bunny.

Retiring are Frazer Mailman and Leanne Southey.

The Masterton Trust Lands Trust returns commercial property rental income to the community in the form of grants for educational, cultural, and community activities.

It leases 80 properties to about 100 local, national, and international tenants.

In South Wairarapa, only men will sit as trustees on the Greytown District Lands Trust.

There are six elected members on the trust, and every three years, three trustees retire by rotation but remain eligible for re-election.

Remaining on the trust from last triennium are Wayne Regnault, Phil Holden, and Matt Bell.

Retiring are Catherine Rossiter-Stead, Sid Kempton, and Derek Wilson.
