The Captain’s Dining Room [TCDR] at The White Swan Hotel in Greytown is one of 10 restaurants in the region that will be featured in Cuisine Magazine’s 2023-2024 Good Food Guide.
White Swan Hotel owner Rosie Rogers told the Times-Age that TCDR has been a real labour of love and has flourished naturally over time.
“We felt truly humbled and very proud to see our Captain’s Dining Room featured in the prestigious Cuisine guide. This is an incredible accomplishment for our team; we can’t thank them enough for their energy and dedication,” Rogers said.
“To have it acknowledged by such a highly respected publication is truly amazing.”
TCDR is all about supporting local, using Greytown’s Vagabond Vege – a collaborative market garden located down the road on the terraces of the Waiōhine River – to source their vegetable produce when possible.
Meanwhile, Rogers is well aware of the immense effort and dedication that goes into creating exceptional dining experiences, and she extended her congratulations to the other finalists listed by Cuisine Magazine.
TCDR is open 5 pm, Wednesday – Sunday, while the hotel’s gastro bar is open seven days a week.
