Farmers bring their market stuff

At this time of year, it’s easy to feel buried in the depths of the winter blues when the weather’s icy and wet.

On the other hand, there’s nothing more refreshing than a crisp winter’s day when the sun is out, shining in all its glory.

So why not enjoy it while experiencing all that the region has to offer this weekend.

Support your local today at the Wairarapa Farmers’ Market.

Due to the recent rain, the grounds have taken a beating, putting customers off from going to the weekly event.

Luckily, this won’t be the case anymore, as a brand new car park has been put in, with the event held under the grandstand.

With 30-plus stalls offering a range of tempting produce – including delicious coffee, honey, cheese, baked goods, vegetables, fresh eggs, and treats for the kids – there’s something there for everyone.

Today, 9–1 pm, Masterton A and P Showgrounds.

Tribute to Queen

Sing your hearts out to Queen’s top hits at a tribute show this weekend.

The show has taken 18 months of dedicated practice to bring together a performance that will rock you – with Paul Madsen as lead vocalist, Paul Jeffrires as key vocals, Andrew Shellock on lead guitar, and Andrew Hausmann on bass guitar.

Book your tickets from Eventfindanda to avoid disappointment or call 0800 BUY TIX [289 849].

All ages are welcome, with general admission tickets priced at $45.30 each.

Today, 8–10:40 pm, Copthorne Hotel and Resort Solway Park, 246 High St, Solway, Masterton.

Social Scent Workshop

Tap into your creative side today with a relaxing candle and wreath-making workshop.

The equipment and materials will be provided for the two-hour workshop.

Light refreshments and extra activities can be added to your experience if you feel like splurging.

Today, 10 am–12 pm, Social Scent in Martinborough.

Fit for a King

Does the sound of Rabbit a La Diable Vol-au-vent with tamarind and mango chutney, hot cream of cucumber grilled pawn bread roll and butter, and fish moray with gruyere parmesan on spinach make your mouth water?

If so, then the Downtown Abbey Midwinter Christmas Degustation dinner might be the event for you.

Join all the other foodies on any Friday, Saturday, or Sunday during the entire month of July for a feast of five courses of delectable food and scrumptious beverages.

Call 06 3088567 to book your spot.

Every Friday, Saturday or Sunday over July, 6–10:00 pm, The Royal Hotel,
