After a two-year hiatus, Hospice Wairarapa is bringing back its charity Golf Day in 2024 with the support of local real estate team Jo Kelly and Co.
The event is teed up to bring the golf-loving community and hospice supporters together for a day of fundraising.
Hospice Wairarapa provides a “holistic wrap-around service of care that supports people who have a life-limiting illness, along with their carers and whānau”.
Funds raised from the event will help support a range of programmes and services offered to clients, caregivers, and whānau by Hospice Wairarapa, including therapies, practical knowledge, and “supporting the hauora [wellbeing] of everyone involved”.
The charity day will be held at the Carterton Golf Course on March 22 and will run an ‘ambrose’ format – allowing all standards of golfers to mix and play together regardless of ability.
Hospice Wairarapa’s interim chief executive Gretchen Saulbrey said she is thrilled to be bringing back the charity Golf Day.
“Our Charity Golf Day is our biggest fundraising event for the year, so we encourage everyone to get involved. There are plenty of ways to get behind the day, by entering a team, becoming a sponsor, or donating a prize. Every little bit helps us help others,” Saulbrey said.
She iterated that all profits go back into Hospice Wairarapa’s community services and resources.
Jo Kelly and Co will support the event, and director Kelly McIsaac said they are pleased to be able to do it again.
“Having experienced first-hand the services Hospice Wairarapa has to offer while navigating the unknown, we know how important this service is and we’re thrilled to have the opportunity to once again support their fundraising efforts,” McIsaac said.
“With the help of our community, Hospice Wairarapa is able to provide its services for free, which is incredible.”
