Water supply
shutdown

Higgins Contractors has provided notice to residents on Masterton’s Worksop Rd and Miriam St that the water supply may be shut down today from 9am until 3pm for water main maintenance work, and to residents on Worksop Rd and Kirton St that there’ll be a water shutdown during the same time period tomorrow. Higgins has apologised for any inconvenience this may cause and suggested that residents store water for use during this period. Because aerated water may be introduced during the recharging of the water lines, residents are advised, if water is discoloured when the water service is restored, to run the cold tap in the bath or laundry until it comes clear. The water may be restored earlier than indicated; if it’s not on again by 3pm, residents should contact Danny Hepburn [06] 370 0444 or 027 201 9406.

Meeting
now moot

South Wairarapa District Council wishes to advise people that a public meeting with Mayor Martin Connelly that was scheduled for today in Featherston at the community centre has been cancelled due to illness.

Intersection work continues

The Pembroke Rd and High St junction in Carterton will be closed tomorrow until Friday, from 7am to 6pm, to allow for maintenance. There will be no access to Pembroke St from SH2 so motorists should use signposted detours.
