Waitangi line-up
TiMaTa from Greytown’s Papawai marae will be at Truckstop this evening and tomorrow for a sing-a-long of waiata Maori in a tribute to Waitangi Day. The entertainers will be live on the Truckstop stage from 6.30-6.45pm each evening. Tomorrow, the singing will be followed by Greytown’s first outdoor comedy show at 7pm. People need not worry about the kids – the funny onstage guys promise family-friendly fun. Truckstop is at 102 Main St, Greytown. The venue’s alcohol-free Unleaded Bar stocks a range of alcohol-free beverages, along with fruit juice and soda. An opportunity to lock in hangover-free al fresco dining and entertainment at New Zealand’s first alcohol-free bar.
Essex St market
The Essex St Sunday fruit and vegetable market will return for another week. The produce sellers, who travel from Levin every Sunday, originally announced their last market day would be tomorrow. However, they have agreed to come back for the last time on February 12. A range of fresh fruits and vegetables are available. The sellers will shortly retire after more than 20 years. The market will be on tomorrow from 8am to noon at the Rotary Car Park corner of Essex and Chapel streets in Masterton.
Kapa Haka
performance
In anticipation of the national Kapa Haka festival, Te Rangiura o Wairarapa will be holding a public performance tomorrow. The group will be the first in Wairarapa to attend Te Matatini Herenga Waka Herenga Tangata National Kapa Haka Festival in Auckland later this month. Locals will have the opportunity for a preview of the action at a dress rehearsal at Trust Stadium, Masterton. Doors open from 11am.
Last call for
school reunion
