Lansdowne business targeted by armed men in aggravated burglary

Police are searching for two men who burgled a Masterton dairy, armed with a metal bar and a knife.

Detective Sergeant Bill van Woerkom said at 9.20am, on Friday April 27, the men entered the Ram Superstore on Roberts Rd, and stole cigarettes and tobacco products.

Staff, who were in the rear of the shop at the time, said they were shaken by the incident but uninjured.

The two men fled the store in a stolen 1989 blue Honda Civic with a broken quarter light which was found abandoned at the Riverside Cemetery.

One of the men was wearing a dark blue or black jacket with the hood up, black track pants, gloves and black sneakers with white soles.

His face was covered by a camouflage scarf and he was carrying a black, square shoulder bag.

The other was also wearing a dark blue or black sweatshirt with the hood up, dark pants with red lines down the side and black shoes.

His face was covered by a wearing disposable white gloves.

The stolen car the pair were driving was seen in the Cornwall St and Kippenberger St areas before the robbery and police are keen to hear from anyone else who may have seen it on the Fri

Police would also like to talk to anyone who was in the Roberts Rd area at the time and may have information that could assist the investigation or help to identify the offenders.

Ram Super Store was targeted by thieves six months ago, when four people made off with cigarettes and cash.

The store was hit again just months before that.
