CDC adopts
annual report
Carterton District Council has adopted its annual report for the year ended 30 June 2023, the first Wairarapa council to do so. The report was adopted at an extraordinary council meeting yesterday morning. The report was the only item on the agenda for the short meeting. The meeting noted the annual report and a summary annual report must be published within one month of its adoption, in this case before the end of this month.
Last day for
submissions
Tomorrow is the last day to make a submission on Carterton District Council’s [CDC] rating review. CDC is looking at the most appropriate way to share rates between different ratepayers [urban, rural, commercial, residential, and properties with multiple dwellings]. The process is not about how much should be collected in rates, what services are covered by rates, or the overall amount of rates collected. More information about the proposals, including how to make a submission is at www.cdc.govt.nz/haveyoursay
Rain, rain
The rest of the week’s weather isn’t set to improve, according to MetService’s latest forecast. Today will bring a low cloud gathering in the morning before fine breaks increase. Later today, the cloud will return and bring with it isolated afternoon and evening showers with possible thunderstorms, downpours and northerlies. Tomorrow, the cloud will linger, and occasional rain might develop in the afternoon as north westerlies ease. The rain returns on Friday, with MetService predicting heavy showers in the morning, becoming more isolated and clearing up to fine breaks in the afternoon.
