Despite temperatures in the mid-high 20s and only patches of rain in Masterton on Saturday, Giants Blues Hutt Valley Premier Two clash with Tōtara Park at South Park was called off.
Steady rain over the hill on Saturday morning resulted in Hutt Valley Softball cancelling all games. With no reserve days set aside, it is unlikely the game will be played at a later date.
Tōtara Park had earlier in the week defaulted their premier three match with Giants Red and their premier three women’s clash with Giants.
However, with the competition-wide cancellation, Giants spokesman Chris Feary questions whether the defaults will stand or the games will be treated as abandoned.
