Juniors make their mark

Gladstone JAB hosted their final under-6 games on Saturday.

Gladstone Under-6 Black were all players of the day again, while Under-6 White’s player of the day was Aiden Edwards for an outstanding game.

Under-8 Gold had a very tight game against Marist which ended in a 6-all draw and players of the day were Tama Conaghan and Sam Tosswill.

Under-8 Black showed their continuing improvement and determination against Masterton Red Star and player of the day went to Angus Dennes

The Under-9s had a 10-4 win against Greytown with a great display of teamwork and as a result the whole team was awarded players of the day.

The Under-11s played a strong game against Marist, losing 42-49, with player of the day going to Zac Jolliffe.

The Gladstone/Tuhirangi Under-13s hosted Carterton in a competitive game with Gladstone winning 36-28 and player of the day going to Jackson Sargent.

For Greytown, Under-8s had a loss to Martinborough and a loss to Featherston.

Players of the day went to Ollie Clark and Oscar Fenwick.

The Under-9s went down to Gladstone 4-14, with players of the day won by Wade Woodcock and Charlie Fawdray.

The Under-13 Southern team wore Martinborough strip and defeated Masterton Red Star 29-22 on the turf.

Conley Alexander scored two tries, while players of the day went to Aiden Scott and William Cole.
