The top two seeds for the Wairarapa Netball Holmes Construction Premier One semifinals have been decided with a round to play.

All that is left now is to determine which team will finish the round-robin at number one.

Celtic United continued their unbeaten run this season to nine games but were pushed hard on Friday night by Jo Kelly and Co Carterton Maroon before pulling away for a 44–34 victory.

Two-time defending champions Wairarapa College A moved equal on points with Celtic with a 42-31 defeat of Harcourts.

Celtic and Waicol meet on Friday night in the battle for the top spot, which going on the current form, could be a dress rehearsal for a third consecutive final between the two.

Harcourts and Carterton Maroon will fight it out for the third and fourth rankings.

In the premier one bottom four,  Opaki Vixens were too good for St Matthew’s, coming away 54–43 victors, and Tuhirangi White had too many guns for Jo Kelly and Co Carterton Rebels, strolling to a 61–41 win.

St Matt’s and Carterton Rebels clash on Friday night, and Vixens and Tuhirangi meet on Saturday in the final round before the semifinals.
