Two bodybuilders from Masterton’s Shape Shop gym will represent New Zealand in the Oceania ICN [ICompete Natural] Bodybuilding Championships in Melbourne over Labour Weekend.
Proprietor Linda Oldfield will compete for ICN New Zealand in the Figure 50 plus category, and Sophia Tunnicliff will represent the Cancer Society Pink Ribbon in Angels – a ‘fun’ more relaxed type category with an added focus on colour and entertainment.
Before heading to Melbourne, though, the pair, along with five others from Shape Shop, will compete in the ICN New Zealand National Championships in Hamilton.
ICN is a drug-tested federation that provides a level playing field for all competitors, and has gained a huge following worldwide. There has also been massive growth in competitor numbers in New Zealand because of its hard stance on a drug-free competition environment.
In Hamilton, Oldfield will contest Ms Figure 50 plus and Ms Sports Model, and Tunnicliffe will line up in Ms Figure 50 plus, ICN Angels and Ms Sports Model in their final warmups before the Oceanias.
Others to represent Shape Shop after qualifying in regional events are Vicki Lewis in the Ms Fitness Model 50 plus, Ms Swimsuit Novice, 40 plus and Ms Sports Model, Theresa Bartlett in Ms Wellness model, Ms Runway and Ms Sports Model, Regan Sherriff, Ms Figure 40 plus and Ms Sports Model, Angela Smart in Ms Body Building 50 plus and Ms Sports Model, and Rachael Lewis in Ms Wellness Model, ICN Angels and Ms Sports Model.
