More than 40 children took part in the first race in the Apache Jack’s kids’ cross-country series at Colombo Rd rugby grounds on Sunday.
Brooke Medlin was first girl home in the Year Seven and Eight race over 2000m, ahead of Liv Stevens and Izzie Edge, while Lyon Rodger was first across the line in the boys from Ian McRae.
Ava Edge won the Year Six girls’ race over 1500m, ahead of Olivia Church and Rebecca Kippen Clough. Charlie Edge crossed the line first in the boys’ race while Blake Hooper was second.
The Year Four and Five children raced over 1000m.
Tyson Medlin took out the boys’ race from William Kippen Clough, second, and James Hanson, third.
The girls’ race went the way of Violet Fisher, with April Wyeth second and Holly Medlin third.
Kamden Scott was the best of the Year One to Three boys [500m]. Jack Gardner was runner-up and third went to Logan Hanson.
The girl’s race was won by Evie Medlin, with Allie Blake second and Paige Shearing third.
