Carterton

On Saturday, the 9-holers teed off at their normal time of 10am, playing a net round.

Jennifer Armstrong had a good day coming in with a net 34. David Ross was next with net 36, followed by Terry Price and Alistair Haslett, both with a net 37. Alistair had a good day, winning NTP on hole 12 and also scoring a two on the same hole. David Ross won the longest putt on hole 17.

The windy forecast must have scared a few people away as 18-hole numbers were light. Despite the wind, a great round was produced by some.

The men played the second and final round of their Broadbent Cup, with Tipi Rimene winning Saturday’s round with a net 67. He also won the Cup itself with a two-round total of 136, well clear of Mike Newport, who came in second with a two-round total of 141. Second place in Saturday’s round was Les Cherry with a net 69, followed by Mike Newport with net 70.

Donna Burns won the Ladies Broadbent Cup with a total of 64 stableford points over two rounds. Donna also won the Ladies Comp on Saturday.

The Keenan Forestry Best Gross Pro V Ball went to Lance Sayer with a gross score of 75, pipping Tipi Rimene by one shot. All Teed Up nearest the Pins went to Val Edwards and Tipi Rimene. Mark Johnston won the Ev’s bar NTP and Trevor Clayton won Benmar NTP. Donna Burns won our Clareville Nursery NTP.

Tipi had a very lucrative day, getting a two on holes 9 and 10. Mark Bebbington, Matthew Williams and Brian Mangin also managed to sink a two.

We are always looking for members to help out on club days. Matthew Williams had his first time in the starters box, teaming up with one of our regulars Duncan Pincock. Thanks guys. Many hands make light work. If you fancy helping out in the starters box, let Donna or Janet know.
