Iain, a ‘proud Scotsman’, with a warm heart made the Wairarapa his home for the past 60 years. Devoted, loving husband and loyal companion to Emily, wise and compassionate father to Fiona, witty, kind,
and inspirational grandfather to Emma. Dedicated younger brother to Nancy (deceased). Affectionate uncle to Sally, Alistair, Alison and Robert and their partners and children. Faithful and beloved son of Elizabeth Kyle and Robert Lamb Macdonald (both deceased). Respected brother-in law of Duncan, Phoebe (deceased), Bobby (deceased) and Nan and their extended families in Scotland. Trustworthy and loving friend to so many.
Iain is known through his work as a Meat Inspector, his involvement with the Fern and Thistle Pipe Band, his love of animals, farming, gardening, history and his genuine interest and care for people. Iain is greatly missed.
In lieu of flowers donations to the Starship Foundation would be appreciated and may be left at the service.
His funeral will be held at Rosewood, 415 Queen Street, Masterton on Thursday 15th February at 11am followed by private cremation. All welcome.
