Two women were robbed at gunpoint in Masterton last night.
Police are investigating the incident which took place at around 8.30pm.
The women were in their parked car on Roberts Rd near the intersection with French St when two men pointed a firearm at them and robbed them of cash, police said.
The women had met the men earlier in the evening in relation to a vehicle purchase.
The two men are described as Caucasian, aged in their 20s, and wearing dark clothing.
The men fled the scene on foot.
Police are appealing for any sightings of the two men or the women’s car, a silver Mitsubishi Mirage, in the Roberts Rd/French St area last night.
