A Crighton ITM truck was involved in a crash on Friday morning on State Highway 2, near the Norfolk Rd intersection.
The crash came after an announcement last week from the New Zealand Transport Agency, that the intersection would be converted into a roundabout after numerous collisions at the problem area, which have happened over the course of several years.
Police attended the collision, which involved two trucks, at 11.10am. Traffic management was in place with the road reopening at about 12.15pm. There were no reported injuries.
About two hours later, a serious crash caused a vehicle to flip, which blocked the southbound lane of SH2 on the Hutt-side of the Remutaka Hill road. This led to stop/go signage as emergency services and contractors attended the incident from about 1pm.
The fire service, police and Wellington Free Ambulance were all in attendance, with reports of one person trapped in the vehicle that had flipped.
It was reported that two people suffered minor injuries. The road was cleared and reopened about 2pm.
