Tranzit Tours has relaunched its series of guided coach tours taking in New Zealand’s hidden gems and attractions.

The company, which caters to the active senior market, is part of Masterton-based Tranzit Group.

It has relaunched and rescheduled 16 tours after the covid-19 lockdown.

These include a three-day midwinter Christmas tour in Rotorua being held in October and a 10-day Far North adventure with highlights such as driving along 90 Mile Beach; visiting the sculpture park at Matakana, the Waipoua Kauri Forest and the Hokianga Harbour including Opononi and cruising to the “hole in the rock” in Bay of Islands.

The company’s Coromandel Explorer tour has already sold out.

A biennial tour of Wairarapa was last held in September 2019.

On August 13, there will be a day tour of Wairarapa called Wairarapa Great Escape, with visits to Pukaha National Wildlife Centre, lunch at the White Swan, and a visit to Carterton including a photo opportunity with the town’s public artwork of angel wings.

Tranzit Tours manager Robin Corbett said while the flow-on effects of covid-19 had impacted the tourism industry massively, “we are now back up and running ready to welcome our loyal passengers and new passengers wanting to explore different parts of New Zealand”.
