A tractor baler caught on fire on Thursday afternoon while travelling along State Highway 2 in Waingawa, Carterton.
Fire and Emergency trucks from Masterton station attended the fire just after 3pm.
No injuries were reported.
The incident slowed traffic on SH2 from both Masterton and Carterton ends, but motorists were still able to get through while fire and emergency dealt with the fire.
Police were also in attendance to divert traffic.
The fire was extinguished, and the scene cleared by 4pm.
The tractor was able to drive off with the baler still intact.
