The Times-Age is the best-performing daily newspaper with a circulation over 5000 in the country, according to the latest ABC audited results out on Thursday.
The paper’s circulation declined one per cent in the 12 months to September 30, 2018.
Editor Grant Harding says the latest result is a testament to the hard work of the reporting team and the paper’s focus on local content.
“Our subscribers and casual buyers want to know what’s happening in the region, and this is what our news reporters and sports reporter work hard to deliver every day,” Harding says.
“Local people – in stories and photos – is what we seek to highlight.
“This result is not only a credit to the editorial and operations departments but all the staff at the Times-Age. It’s a collaborative working environment, in which owner Andrew Denholm, advertising, circulation, and front office all play a major role.”
By way of comparison, the Dominion-Post dropped 11.2 per cent over the same period. It has lost an average of 3000 in daily sales since going to a compact design in April of this year.
