Police received a report of a two-vehicle crash in Masterton yesterday at 2.35pm on Paierau Rd, Opaki. The road was temporarily blocked while the scene was cleared, and one crew from Masterton Brigade assisted with traffic management. A spokesperson from Fire and Emergency said the crash involved a “three-car pile up” in which three cars, ran into each other nose to tail. The car at the front wasn’t badly damaged, but the two vehicles behind suffered significant damage. One truck ended up on its side, with another spokesperson describing the scene as “carnage”. Wellington Free Ambulance confirmed paramedics attended and treated two patients at the scene. One was in a minor condition, and one was in a moderate condition, but neither required further transport. PHOTOS/BELLA CLEARY
