A third person has been arrested and charged with the attempted murder of a Masterton woman, who was shot on Dixon St in Kuripuni on Sunday night.
The victim, a woman in her 20s, suffered serious leg injuries.
She was discharged from Wellington Hospital on Tuesday, a hospital spokesperson confirmed.
A 28-year-old man appeared in Masterton District Court on Tuesday, facing four charges.
He has been charged with two counts of attempted murder — of the victim and her partner.
The Masterton man has also been charged with intent to do grievous bodily harm by discharging a firearm and assaulting with intent to injure.
He was remanded in custody and is due to appear in the Wellington High Court later this month.
Two other Masterton people are facing similar charges in relation to the firearms incident.
Wairarapa area investigation manager Haley Ryan, confirmed all three people charged were known to each other and travelled in the same vehicle.
The third arrest came after police found the vehicle of interest which will be undergoing forensic examination.
“We believe the car was used as a weapon,” Ryan said.
Police had executed further search warrants at Masterton addresses and were still completing a canvas of the area.
Ryan said police were still trying to find a black van and a Subaru Impreza with gold rims. She urged the drivers of those vehicles to come forward, so they can be eliminated from the investigation.
Extra investigators were still assisting with inquiries as well as providing local back up for reassurance to the community.
“We believe there were a couple of incidents prior to the shooting at a couple of different addresses,” Ryan said.
One such incident, that occurred on the same day of the shooting, was a report of wilful damage at a Church St address.
Ryan assured the public that there had been no further incidents since Sunday and the persons responsible were in custody.
