Masterton artist Sam Ludden wasn’t keen to give too much away as he set up his contribution to the WAI – Manga Maha, Awa Kotahi – One river Many Streams exhibition at Masterton’s Aratoi Wairarapa Museum of Art and History, which aims to put a “face” on the region’s waterways.
Ludden has made 80 ceramic eels for the exhibition but didn’t want to spoil the surprise of seeing the full display first-hand.
As well as his piece, WAI includes a soundscape featuring Antarctic recordings by Warren Maxwell, and a piece featuring objects found along Masterton’s waterways.
The exhibition opened last night and runs until May 26. Today at 11am there will be a talk by artists involved.
