A Masterton woman has ramped up her business so vulnerable and elderly people can get essential supplies during lockdown.

Tracy Forrester, owner of A2B couriers, said the service was especially aimed at helping older and vulnerable people who were not able to leave home easily to collect their own supplies or run essential errands.

“It’s really hard for them during lockdown,” she said.

The Masterton-based service would be available across Wairarapa for collection and delivery of groceries, pet food and similar supplies.

“We can shop, pick up and deliver from the supermarket. We also pick up and deliver prescriptions.

“We can collect pet food and animal feed and take pets to the vet if people are unable to.

“There is nothing we can’t help out with,” she said.

The service is available by advance arrangement generally during normal working hours, but also outside these hours in special cases.

“We are flexible for urgent requirements like prescriptions. With enough notice we can work it out. Prior arrangement is best,” she said.

Forrester started setting up the shuttle and delivery service a few months ago, but fast-tracked the business when lockdown was announced.

The service has three available vehicles, including a ute. There are two regular staff generally on call, with extra capacity if needed.

Forrester is experienced with animals, having run a service shuttling pets to doggy day care, the groomers and other places.
