Wairarapa District Health Board chief executive Dale Oliff says she is very happy with how the Wairarapa region has fared during the covid-19 outbreak.
“We are seeing early success in Wairarapa with our high testing numbers, low case numbers, no hospital covid-19 admissions, and the fact that it has been a month since we reported our last case,” she said.
As the first week of Level-3 ends Wairarapa DHB stress that people must not compromise the good progress that has been made.
“We cannot forget that we are still testing people every day with symptoms and any of these has the potential to come back positive,” Oliff said.
The DHB created a map to show people where the highest risk places are in the region.
There were four cases in the Featherston/South Wairarapa area, three in Carterton, and one in Masterton.
With these great results can’t we look at going into a regional bubble for the sake of our small businesses who may not survive if we go for much longer without them being able to open. Come on Jacinda 41 days without one case in Masterton is pretty good!!
