Police are searching for a person who fired a weapon from their car in Martinborough just after midday on Sunday.
The vehicle had stopped outside a house on Daniel St when they fired the weapon before fleeing, a police spokesperson said.
Multiple calls were made to police: some reporting they had seen someone with a firearm, others reporting to have heard “a shot being fired”.
“No one was injured in the incident.”
Armed police responded and inquiries are ongoing to find the offender and vehicle, the spokesperson said.
No further information was available at time of publication.

Sunday a week ago multiple shots were fired at a property on Kaka St in Masterton.
Although no one who lived at the property called police or reported gunshots “police revisited the same residential address in Kaka St in daylight and it became apparent that severalf holes in the wooden wall of the home were in fact gunshot damage,” a spokesperson said.
Regarding this incident, Detective Senior Sergeant Barry Bysouth said, “everyone should be safe in their homes and this type of activity must not be tolerated by any of us”.
As part of that investigation, police ran a search warrant at an Oxford St property on Wednesday morning.
A 41-year-old gang member was arrested after he was found with drugs on his property. It is thought he was connected to the shooting, however police later determined he was not.
