A motorcyclist is dead near Eketahua after colliding with a vehicle towing a trailer that may have crossed the centreline, police say.
Police investigators are still at the scene of the incident, five kilometres north of Eketahuna, which happened about 12pm on Sunday.
Police say the male motorcyclist was travelling south at the time.
He crashed into the side of the north-bound vehicle, which had crossed the centreline, and died at the scene
Eketahuna ambulance and fire crews were the first to respond.
Diversions are in place at Bridge St at the southern end of the town, and at North St to the north.
They are likely to stay in place for some time.
The serious crash unit is investigating.
