You may have spotted an oversized motor home headed south on State Highway 2 on Tuesday night.
A truck laden with a building destined for rural Featherston first had to navigate the roundabout on Renall and Chapel streets about 8pm, drawing a modest crowd of spectators.
The 247m2, five-room villa was built about 1900, and travelled in two main pieces with its roof in tow.
Traffic squeezed past the building as it rested, before all parts had carefully made the 90-degree turn onto the main road.
Once delivered and pieced together in its new spot, the building will be used as the buyers’ family home.
