Wellington District Police seized methamphetamine, cash, and a firearm while running a search warrant at a Martinborough property on Friday.
About 500g of methamphetamine [pictured] was found, which has a street value of about $400,000, along with $12,000 in cash, and a sawn-off shotgun and ammunition.
In relation to the warrant, a 25-year-old man and a 26-year-old woman were arrested for possession of methamphetamine for supply and unlawful possession of a firearm.
Both appeared in the Masterton District Court on Friday afternoon.
Detective Sergeant Shaun Richardson said a seizure of this size would prevent considerable social harm.
“The amount of methamphetamine seized [Friday] was potentially destined for hundreds, if not thousands, of people.
“Police will continue to target those who seek to profit from the harm they cause, often to the most vulnerable members of our communities.”
