Staff at Pukaha National Wildlife Centre could be doing themselves out of a job.

The Junior Ranger School Holiday Programme is arming children aged from 5 to 14 with knowledge about everything from birds to insects, traps to forensics, native species to extinct species.

As many as 20 children have attended to learn about and explore nature, and staff say the information retention is such that some could now do an informative talk on the Tuatara.

Tate Newnham said he really enjoyed his time at the programme. “It is great how we get to see all these endangered animals in the flesh.”

Solenne Taylor agreed saying, “And alive and in action in the flesh.”
