Greytown Bowling Club have already made a decent impact on the competitive scene in Wairarapa this season.
Highlight has been the success of Gail Hemi and Dean Hands in the Trust House-sponsored 2-4-2 centre tournament, a victory which qualified them to contest the national finals in Dunedin.
Hemi and Dianne Haswell were runners-up in the centre’s women’s open pairs while Hands combined with Leanne Sweeney, of Masterton, to place third in the Professionals 2-4-2 tourney after winning their section on the first day.
The Greytown combination of Brian Phillips, Dean Hands, Buster Hemi and David Haswell were runners-up in the men’s open fours while the women’s inter-club team of Dianne Haswell, Jackie Kelynack, Mary Williamson, Anne Hollis, Bonny Lahman, Jackie Thomas, Mavis Jones and Gail Hemi placed second in the Mitsubishi inter-club sevens series.
