Female offender with purple hair key to case
Police have released descriptions of the three suspects responsible for an assault which left a Masterton man hospitalised with serious facial injuries this week.
The assault happened at the 58-year-old man’s Renall St home around 9pm on Monday night when two women and a man attacked him, his partner and a visitor to the home.
The man was taken to Wairarapa Hospital and then transferred to Hutt Hospital where he received surgery for facial injuries.
His partner also received minor injuries.
At this stage, police do not believe the victims are linked to the offenders in any way.
Police are treating the inquiry as an aggravated robbery and believe a weapon was used to inflict some of the injuries.
“Members of our community should be safe and feel safe in their homes,” said Detective Senior Sergeant Haley Ryan.
“We want to find the three people responsible for this horrendous attack and hold them to account.”
The male offender is described as tall and skinny, around 1.75m tall, and in his early 20s.
He was wearing a grey face mask.
Both the female offenders were aged from 16 to 18 years old and were around 1.60m to 1.65m tall.
One had shoulder length black hair and one had shoulder length brown hair, possibly with a little bit of purple through it.
Ryan says finding the woman with purple hair will crack the case wide open.
“There will be people in our community who know who these people are, and we want to hear from you,” Ryan said.
“There can’t be that many people in Masterton with purple hair so we want to hear from them so we can eliminate them from the inquiry.”
