Traffic was diverted from High St, Masterton, yesterday after a truck and car crashed at about 1.27pm.
Constable Joe Nelley said the car had pulled out of Judds Rd while the truck had been driving north along High St.
Both vehicles were carrying only the drivers, and Nelley could not say who had been at fault.
No one was injured, but the woman who had been driving the car was taken to Wairarapa Hospital for a check-up.
Southbound traffic was diverted along Manchester St as emergency services cleaned up after the crash, and the road was reopened within an hour.
Meanwhile, earlier in the day, a police pursuit along Fitzherbert St in Featherston ended with a 38-year-old man being arrested.
Wairarapa response manager Senior Sergeant Jennifer Hansen said the pursuit started at 2.22am and continued for six minutes.
It is not known how many police cars were involved.
A police media spokesperson said the vehicle was driving at excess speed before it appeared to lose a tyre and slowed down.
The man was charged with failing to stop, dangerous driving, and driving while disqualified.
He is due to appear in Masterton District Court next week.
