A trail of woe

PHOTO/SAM TATTERSFIELD

A spill of what appeared to be yellow road paint along State Highway 2 heading south into Carterton had motorists confused and bemused on Friday.

The line of spilled paint stretched more than a kilometre but the New Zealand Transport Agency, which maintains SH2, was unaware of incident when contacted by the Times-Age.

It appeared paint had leaked after double yellow lines had been painted.

NZTA was unable to provide comment on who had spilled the paint, or what action would be taken, until it had spoken to its contractor.
