South Wairarapa District Council [SWDC] has closed the playground on Kuratawhiti St in Greytown for maintenance to ensure it’s ready for the start of the school holidays on July 6. This will include “the removal of a number of aged assets” that are at the end of their lives or in need of modernisation, a SWDC spokesperson said, and upgrades to “the swings, flying fox, younger children’s play module, fort, and the addition of another rocker”. Work started on June 12 with the aim of completing it in three weeks, depending on the weather.
