During Easter weekend, KiwiRail will be replacing the bridge on the Wairarapa Line near Dalefield Rd in Carterton.
The new bridge is currently being built alongside the old one and will be moved into place during the long weekend. During that time, there will be a road closure between the Hodders Rd and Lincoln Rd junctions from 11pm Thursday, April 6 to 2am Tuesday, April 11.
KiwiRail warns that, on the first two days of the new bridge being in place, the warning lights at the level crossing won’t be functioning and trains will be passing through at 10kmh.
