Manholes not yet flush

Recent roadworks have left the manhole and fire hydrant covers on Masterton’s King St sitting about 5cm below the new road surface. A spokesperson for Masterton District Council said King St was resurfaced over two days last week, but work is still underway. The manhole covers are supposed to be flush with the road surface, but work was delayed to due to poor weather conditions. The remaining work, which will make the road surface even, is being rescheduled. The spokesperson said King St was due for a resurface, given it had been several years since that was last done.
