Arvida Lansdowne Park [ALP], Wairarapa’s largest lifestyle village, has expanded as a retirement village and is set to open ‘Arvida Lansdowne Estate’ [ALE] on September 16.
Arvida builds, owns, and operates over 35 retirement communities across New Zealand for Kiwis over 65 years, accommodating roughly 6750 residents who supported by 2700 employees.
Construction for ALE began in August last year, with 21 villas completed since then in the first stage of the development – 14 of which have just been released on the market.
Half of these released villas were sold during an open day on Saturday [July 16].
“There are a further 10 villas that have begun construction, and these are due to be completed for move-in by March 2024,” Arvida general manager of sales Tristan Saunders told the Times-Age.
“Looking further ahead, there is another stage that will add to the community, and this is currently in the planning stages.
“The interest has been very strong, and we have seven contracts signed at the time of print, with seven still available. With so much interest, we are confident this number will increase,” Saunders said.
“We develop our communities so that we release a number of villas in each stage. This ensures the community can grow and be enjoyed in a considered way.”
Around 40 ALP residents were given a special preview of the new estate before last Saturday’s public launch.
About 100 people attended the ALE open day on Saturday, and seven of the 14 available villas were put under contract.
“We’re excited to be expanding in the region and bringing our mission of ‘transforming the ageing experience’ to the wider Masterton community,” Saunders said.
“Lansdowne Estate and Lansdowne Park residents will be able to utilise each other’s amenities, and we’ll be encouraging get-togethers and events for everyone – as part of our wellness approach called ‘The Attitude of Living Well’,” Saunders said.
“There is a dedicated temporary clubhouse for use immediately once residents have moved in at Lansdowne Estate and larger amenities planned for later.”
