New Mt Bruce event hits the mark

On Saturday a new weekend market was held at Mt Bruce Hall on Kiriwhakapapa Rd out of Masterton.

Organiser Lynn Tankersley described the inaugural event as “great, apart from a few strong wind gusts”.

“Lots of people, in addition to the local Mt Bruce residents, stopped off, which was good,” she said.

“We had 25 stalls selling coffee, BBQ, eggs, honey, jams, veggies, and arts and crafts, all of which sold very well.”

Tankersley said that the stall run by some new Mt Bruce residents, Benjamin Madden and Marisa McLuckie of Off Track Arts, received a great deal of attention.

Following the event’s debut, the stall holders “want to do it again”, Tankersley said, and so she is now planning to hold another market at the hall in October or November, once the weather is more settled.
